Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, grew emotional while wishing people on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha on June 29.
The chief of the National Conference party recounted the story of Eid-al-Adha. "This is the day that Allah ordered Abraham to sacrifice his most dear possession. He thought his son is most (valuable). He loved him the most," Abdullah said.
"Abraham told Ishmael about Allah's order and the son said that the order be followed. Then Allah told Abraham that he was successful, and he should sacrifice an animal," the ex-CM recounted.
"I pray that Allah accepts our sacrifice and reduces our hardships, and lets us live in peace," the Kashmiri leader said.
