First session of 18th Lok Sabha begins; PM Modi, others take oath as MPs

The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha began on Monday. The winners of the just concluded general elections, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took oath as the members of Parliament.

Prior to that, President Droupadi Murmu administered oath to BJP's Bhartruhari Mahtab as the pro tem Speaker of the House.

On June 26, the Lok Sabha Speaker will be elected. On June 27, the President is scheduled to address the joint sitting of both houses of Parliament.
