The Rajya Sabha saw stormy scenes again on 3 February 2023 as Opposition MPs demanded a discussion on the Adani-Hindenburg issue.
Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar rejected 15 adjournment notices filed by various Opposition leaders, leading to protests. The House was adjourned for three-and-a-half hours.
The Chairman had rejected similar notices a day earlier as well.
When DMK MP Tiruchi Siva sought an explanation about why his notice was rejected, Dhankar first told him to go through the rules, and if he still had doubts, then meet him in the Chairman's chamber during lunch.
Dhankar added, " If there is still any doubt, kindly spare time to see me in my chamber during lunch recess. You will be feasted with food of your choice."
