Former Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi died Monday night after battling cancer, ANI reported. He was 72.

Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary shared the news of his demise through a post on X, expressing his sorrow.

He wrote, "Heartfelt condolences on the demise of former Deputy Chief Minister and former Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sushil Kumar Modi ji. This is an irreparable loss for the Bihar BJP."

Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha also expressed his condolences on Sushil Kumar Modi's demise.

He wrote on X, "Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Sushil Modi ji is no longer among us. This is an irreparable loss for the entire BJP organization family and countless workers like me. He will always be remembered for his organizational skills, administrative acumen, and deep understanding of social and political issues. May his departed soul rest in peace and may his family find strength during this time of grief."
 

Notably, Modi was named as one of the star campaigners of the Bharatiya Janata Party for Lok Sabha Elections 2024. However, in early April, he disclosed that he was diagnosed with cancer. and would not be participating in the poll campaigns.
