The Supreme Court will hear Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee's plea challenging the Allahabad high court order allowing ASI to conduct an ASI survey of the Gyanvapi mosque premises, ANI reported.

The Muslim side on August 3rd moved the top court shortly after the high court order. The survey exercise will begin on August 4.

Notably, following an earlier order by the Supreme Court, the 'wazukhana' will not be part of the survey.

Hindu activists claim that a temple existed earlier at the site and was demolished in the 17th century on the order of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
