Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar, one of the top contenders for chief minister's post in the state told party chief Mallikarjun Kharge in a meeting on Tuesday that he helped the party rebuild in the state after their government collapsed in 2019 and it is his turn to get the top post, according to an India Today report quoting sources.
He reportedly told Kharge that Siddaramaiah has already been given a chance to run the government in Karnataka and called his tenure a 'misrule'.
Shivakumar added that if he is not chosen as the chief minister he would prefer working only as an MLA in the party, the report added.
