Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended his wishes to Liz Truss after she won the Conservative party leadership polls to be crowned the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. PM Modi expressed confidence that Truss' leadership will further strengthen the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Among other leaders who congratulated Truss was German Chancellor Olaf Scholz who "hoped the UK and Germany will continue to work closely together as partner and friends."
Ukraine Parliament Speaker also extended wishes to the new head of the UK government underlining that the Western power is Ukraine's true ally.

Conservative Party leader Liz Truss won the Prime Ministerial contest after defeating former Johnson loyalist Rishi Sunak in a close contest.
In her victory speech, Truss hailed Boris Johnson for standing up to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the Ukraine war.
