An emotional moment ensued after the Lok Janshakti Party announced its candidates for all five seats in Bihar for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. A now-viral video shows Shambhavi Chaudhary hugging her father Ashok Chaudhary, a senior JD(U) leader and veteran politician.
At the age of 25, Shambhavi Chaudhary has now also become the youngest Dalit woman to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Shambhavi Chaudhary has a rich political background. Her father Ashok Chaudhary has been a Cabinet Minister for the Building Construction Department in Bihar.
He is considered to be one of the most influential ministers in the Nitish Kumar government, news agency PTI reported.
Shambhavi’s grandfather Mahavir Chaudhary held a ministerial position in Bihar under the Congress Party.
LJP leader Chirag Paswan also announced the remaining candidates for the elections. While Chirag's brother-in-law Arun Bharti has already filed nomination papers from Jamui, the party president, who has represented the seat twice in a row, will try his luck from Hajipur, his late father Ram Vilas Paswan's pocket borough.
