Maharashtra's Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal has sent disqualification notices to 16 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs and asked them submit their replies by Monday.

The Deputy Speaker's action came on the request of Shiv Sena.

Earlier in the day, the Eknath Shinde-led rebel camp decided to name themselves 'Shiv Sena Balasaheb Group', prompting a resolution by the Shiv Sena at its national executive prohibiting anyone from using the name of the party or the party founder.

Rebel MLA Deepak Kesarkar also said in virtual press conference that the faction will not merge with anyone. He said they are still Shiv Sena but just a different faction that will support the BJP.
