Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi resigns as Minority Affairs Minister

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has resigned as the Minority Affairs Minister in the Narendra Modi goverment amid speculations that he may be made the next Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Along with Naqvi, RCP Singh from JD(U) has also resigned as a minister. 

Both Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and RCP Singh's term as Rajya Sabha members ends on Thursday. 

Naqvi, a senior BJP leader, is also the deputy leader of the Rajya Sabha.
