A competition to demonstrate political influence broke out between the two factions of NCP on July 3.

While Sharad Pawar rallied his supporters during a trip from Pune to Karad, his rebel nephew Ajit Pawar met MLAs who are part of his mutiny.

Newly-inducted ministers in the Maharashtra government, and other supporters, met Ajit Pawar at his Mumbai residence.

Subsequently, the newly-crowned Deputy Chief Minister left his house for a meeting with Devendra Fadnavis.
