On the day that a central agency attached assets linked to Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut's family, the Rajya Sabha member was at a dinner party with Union minister Nitin Gadkari. The April 5 party was hosted by Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar at his Delhi residence. BJP's Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey was also reportedly present at the event.
The dinner was hosted for Maharashtra legislators who were in the national capital for a 2-day orientation program organised by the Lok Sabha secretariat. On the same day, the Enforcement Directorate provisionally attached assets worth more than Rs 11.15 crore linked to Sanjay Raut's wife and two associates, as per reports.

The action was taken as part of a money laundering investigation related to some land deals. Sanjay Raut called the ED action an act of vendetta by the central government. The Shiv Sena has been accusing the Narendra Modi government of misusing central agencies against Opposition leaders.
