Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) President Pashupati Kumar Paras resigned from the Union Cabinet on Tuesday, a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) finalised a seat sharing deal with his nephew.
The BJP on Monday announced a seat-sharing agreement in Bihar with Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United (JDU) and Chirag Paswan's LJP (Ram Vilas). Pashupati Paras’ faction of the LJP found no mention.
The LJP (Ram Vilas) will field candidates from Vaishali, Samastipur, Khagaria, Jamui and Hajipur -- the Lok Sabha constituency won by Paras in the 2019 election.
"The NDA alliance has been announced. I am grateful to the Prime Minister. My party and I faced injustice. So I am resigning as minister," Paras said in a statement.
