Congress on Sunday targetted the Centre, following the appointment of ex-SC judge Justice Nazeer as the governor of Andhra Pradesh.
Without referring to the appointments, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh shared a tweet containing a 2012 video of late Arun Jaitley where he said, "Pre-retirement judgments are influenced by post-retirement jobs." Quoting the video, Jairam Ramesh said, "Adequate proof of this in the past 3-4 years for sure."
Congress MP Manickam Tagore said who work for Modi are now the Governors. "Modi work for Adani...who work for Modi are now Governors. Who works for people then? Bharat Mata ki Jai," the Congress MP tweeted.
President Droupadi Murmu on February 12 notified the appointment of Justice Abdul Nazeer as the third Governor of Andhra Pradesh.

Justice Nazeer, who retired on Janaury 4, 2023 has been part of many landmark verdicts, including the Ayodhya-Babri masjid case, Triple Talaq case, 2016 demonetisation case and the judgment that held that the right to privacy is a fundamental right.
