Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla after parts of his speech were expunged.

The Leader of the Opposition asserted that his remarks did not violate the rules of the House and sought them to be restored.

Gandhi said what he wanted to convey was ground reality and taking them off the records was against the very tenets of parliamentary democracy.

Gandhi further claimed that BJP leader Anurag Thakur's speech was full of allegations but only one word from it was expunged. Gandhi said this selective expunction defied logic.
