RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent visit to Kaushalya temple in Chhattisgarh on CM Bhupesh Bhagel’s invitation has stoked a fresh controversy between the ruling party and the BJP.

Bhagwat was scheduled to attend RSS conclave in Raipur earlier this week when Baghel publicly invited him Bhagwat to visit the refurbished Kaushalya temple dedicated to Lord Ram’s mother.

Heaping praises on the ruling party’s move to invite chief of Bharatiya Janata Party’s ideological fountainhead, State Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said, “The BJP does politics of hate over religion. But the Congress government in Chhattisgarh has shown them the politics of connecting with people”, the Indian Express quoted.

Hitting back at the Congress for “politicising religion”, with BJP leader Dharamlal Kaushik saying that the Congress is making a big deal out of someone’s personal visit. He further added that no one from the party was there to welcome him. Congress is making religion a political issue, Kaushik stated.
