A day after Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai held the ruling DMK responsible for the recent spread of fake news about attack on migrant workers, the police have filed a case against him on charges of inciting violence and promoting enmity between groups, India Today reported.

This after a video went viral on social media where migrant labourers from Bihar were being brutally thrashed.

However, the police later said the video was fake and registered a case against three people including BJP spokesperson Prashant Umrao, for spreading the video.
