As the rescue and search operation in the horrific train accident in Odisha's Balasore continues, the latest details have come to the fore.

As per Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena, the collision occurred between three trains. One of the trains is the Coromandel Express which derailed and rammed into a goods train coming from the other side of the track. It has apparently collided with a third train.

At least 180 people have been injured in the accident and the death toll is also likely to go up.

While the injured have been shifted to hospital, CMs of neighbouring states have deployed their resources to help in rescue operations.

So far, 600-700 rescue force personnel from NDRF and SDRF teams are on the spot.
