Union minister Smriti Irani faced-off with a Congress leader on board a flight. A video of the heated interaction was posted on Twitter by the Congress leader, Netta D'Souza.
The Opposition party member questioned Smriti Irani about the rising prices of petrol, diesel, LPG etc. The minister countered by citing welfare programmes run by the government like free ration and vaccination amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Irani said that 80 crore people had received free ration for 25 months, and 183 crore vaccine doses have been administered.
Irani also said that she doesn't like being accosted, to which the Congress leader responded by saying that she's a minister.
The interaction reportedly occurred during deboarding of a Delhi-Guwahati flight.
