With the Presidential election kicking off on 18 July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first to cast his vote.

As he walked along the corridor, he was handed a ballot paper and the special pen provided by the Election Commission specifically for voting. PM Modi was accompanied by BJP President JP Nadda and other Union ministers.

Inside the voting chamber, PM Modi filled details in the ballot paper in a separate enclosure. The Presidential election is held via secret ballot.

After filling in the ballot paper, PM Modi handed back the special pen and approached the ballot box. He posed for the cameras while dropping the voting paper inside the ballot box, and subsequently left.
