Aam Aadmi Party candidate Bobi Kinnar who won the Sultanpuri-A ward has become the first member of the transgender community to be elected to the Delhi Municipal Corporation.
Bobi won the Sultanpuri-A seat by a margin of 6,714 votes over Congress candidate Varuna Dhaka.
This was her first stint with AAP. She contested the 2017 civic polls as an independent candidate.

A class IX dropout, Bobi is a social worker involved in works related to child education, women empowerment and people with disabilities.
The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday won the MCD polls with 134 seats, ending the 15-year rule of the BJP in the prestigious municipal corporation and reducing the Congress to just nine seats in a house of 250.
