When Jawaharlal Nehru faced India's first no-confidence motion

The first no-confidence motion in India's history was faced by its first prime minister - Jawaharlal Nehru. 

Following India's defeat and loss of face in the 1962 war against China, Opposition leader and Congress rebel Acharya JB Kripalani moved a no-confidence motion against Nehru on August 19, 1963. Nehru by then had been India's prime minister for 16 years

The debate is reported to have lasted for 21 hours and 33 minutes over 4 days. The no-confidence motion against Nehru was defeated with 347 MPs voting against it and 62 MPs voting in favour.
