JP Nadda's term as BJP President is set to end in January next year but according to a News 18 report based on sources, he is likely to get an extension till the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
The reported quoted sources as saying that the party does not want to disturb the good rapport between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda till the next general elections.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is being seen as JP Nadda's successor after 2024.
BJP's Constitution earlier allowed a person to hold the president's post only for one term, which is 3 years. The rules were then amended in 2012 to allow a member to hold the post for two consecutive terms of 3 years each.
