Major political drama broke out in Telangana's Hyderabad on 29 November as an Opposition leader's car was towed by police, even as she was seated inside. YS Sharmila, founder and president of the YSR Telangana Party, was seen calmly sitting at the wheel of her SUV as a crane towed the vehicle.
Meanwhile, a big crowd surrounded the car, and police personnel were seen trying to clear the road so the crane could move ahead. YS Sharmila's car was towed while she was staging a protest against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Details of the nature of protest, and reason that the car was towed by police, were not immediately known.
YS Sharmila is the younger sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. She floated the YSR Telangana Party in July 2021, and has said that her party has nothing to do with her brother's outfit, the YSR Congress.
