The BJP has issued new set of rules for its spokersperson and leaders on joining debates on TV after a comment by now suspended leader Nupur Sharma on Prophet Mohammed caused India international embarrassment.
According to a report by NDTV quoting BJP sources, the spokespersons have been warned against criticising any religion, its symbols or religious figures.
The report goes on to add that BJP leaders have been asked to exercise restraint in their language and have been strictly asked not violate the party's ideology or ideals whatever may be the provocation.
The BJP has reportedly asked its spokespersons find out what the party's line is on a particular issue before appearing on any channel.
They have also been asked to focus on the govt's social and welfare work, according to NDTV report.
