Ludhiana admin gears up to celebrate Republic Day with patriotic fervour

Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik today directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for celebrating Republic Day with patriotic fervour in the district on January 26.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will be the chief guest of the Republic Day function and will unfurl the National Flag on January 26.

Presiding over a meeting to review the arrangements of Republic Day at Bachat Bhawan, the Deputy Commissioner said that to mark the celebrations of Republic Day, the function would be held at the sports stadium in Punjab Agricultural University. 

She said that various contingents of Punjab Police and NCC would participate in the march past in the function.

She stated that a committee has been formed to decide the cultural items to be performed by the students of various schools and colleges of the district. The full dress rehearsal will be held on January 24.

 Surabhi Malik said that requisite arrangements would be made for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities during the Republic Day function. 

She asked the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana to ensure proper cleanliness around the venue of the function.

Further, the DC asked the health department to depute medical teams along with medicines and a permanent ambulance to facilitate the people during the event. She also asked the PSPCL to ensure the supply of uninterrupted power during the Republic Day celebrations. She also said that every officer must ensure people participating in this function should not face any kind of problem.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Gautam Jain, ADC (Rural Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, ADC (Urban Development) Rupinder Singh, ACA GLADA Amarjit Bains, MC Joint Commissioner Kulpreet Singh, and others.
