Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Minister, Hardeep Singh Mundian, today, dedicated new water supply projects costing about Rs 4.21 crore in three villages of Sunam Udham Singh Wala assembly constituency.
Addressing the gatherings, Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been ensuring all out efforts to provide clean drinking water to the houses of the people. in compliance with all the schemes of the Water Supply and Sanitation Department are being successfully implemented. He said that an estimated budget demand of Rs 160 crore has been submitted to the Punjab Government for the construction of new water supply schemes in 144 villages of the state, which is expected to be approved soon.
He said that under this mission, Rs. 25.61 crore has already been approved previous year, for 37 villages of Sangrur district, in which 87,053 villagers have been provided with potable drinking water. He also added that projects worth Rs. 28.32 crore are under approval for the construction of water supply schemes in 24 villages of Sangrur district.
Cabinet Minister, while inaugurating the water supply schemes prepared at a cost of Rs. 4.21 crore in Bishanpura Akalgarh, Tolewal and Dhadrian villages, said that overhead water tanks, tubewells, 29 km of new pipeline and solar system have been installed under these schemes, that ensured uninterrupted supply of pure drinking water to 7218 villagers.
Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian added that Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, who is representing the Sunam assembly constituency as an MLA and also leading the Aam Aadmi Party as state president, leaving no stone unturned to make Sunam constituency, a model constituency, had initiated these schemes, that have been dedicated to the people today.
