Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu, who was accused in R-Day violence, dies in road accident

Punjabi actor-activist Deep Sidhu, who was an accused in January 26 violence case in Delhi, died in a road accident in Haryana on Tuesday.

The popular actor died in an accident on the Kundli-Manesar KMP Expressway in Haryana's Sonepat when his car rammed into a truck, police said. He was travelling from Delhi to Bhatinda.

Deep Sidhu was arrested last year after the violence during the farmer's tractor rally in Delhi on January 26. He was later granted bail.

He was among the protesters who entered the Red Fort during the protest and hoisted a Sikh religious flag. Deep Sidhu had streamed the protest live on Facebook.

Farmers' tractor rally that was part of their protest against the now-repealed farm laws had turned violent on Republic Day last year.
