Yog Ramdev has sparked a controversy after he allegedly made a sexist comment on women’s attire recently. The remark was reportedly made at an event in Maharashtra’s Thane last Friday.

A video clip from the event wherein Ramdev can be heard saying, ‘Women can look good in anything - saree, salwar kameez or even when they wear nothing.’ has now gone viral with people from all walks of lives slamming Ramdev.

Condemning his comments, Delhi Women's Commission chief Swati Maliwal has sought an apology from Ramdev to the entire country.

Trinamool Congress's Mahua Moitra also took to Twitter and slammed Ramdev's comment.

Notably, the comment was made in presence of Maha Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis’s wife Amruta Fadnavis, to which the Uddhav Thackeray Shiv Sena faction has questioned why she did not protest against Ramdev's comments.

Meanwhile, there is no clarification from Ramdev or Patanjali either on the row following his remark
