Around 4 years after the Indian space agency's Chandrayaan 2 lander crashed on the moon, the Chandrayaan 3 mission is preparing for launch.
The third iteration of India's lunar mission is likely to be launched on July 12, 2023, ISRO sources were quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. Touchdown on the Moon's surface is expected on August 23.
The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle, or GSLV Mk 3 rocket is expected to be used in the mission.
Chandrayaan 3 consists of a made-in-India Moon lander, rover, and propulsion module.
