Richa Chadha clarifies after 'Galwan says hi' tweet on Indian Army causes online uproar

Actor Richa Chadha issued an apology and a clarification after her tweet on the Indian Army led to a major controversy.

Richa had earlier commented on a statement by a senior officer of the Indian Army that the forces are ready to take back Pakistan Occupied Kashmir if the government gives such an order.

Richa had tweeted, "Galwan says hi" on the statement. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa had called the tweet "disgraceful".

In her clarification, Richa said that it was not her intention but if "the three words" offended or hurt anyone, she apologises. She said that her uncle was a paratrooper, and grandfather an Army soldier who took a bullet in the leg in the India-China war.

The actor added that it is an "emotive issue" for her, and said, "It's in my blood."
