RJD leader Manoj Jha has criticised Delhi University for cancelling his lecture. Jha, who is also a professor at the university's Department of Social Work, said that he had been invited to address the DU faculty for a refresher course on September 4 but the invitation has now been cancelled.
He said that Geeta Singh, the director of DU's Centre for Professional Development in Higher Education sent him an invitation for the lecture on August 18 but he has now received an email from her saying that his lecture has been cancelled due to 'some unavoidable circumstances'.
'This is my university. I teach here. I have studied here and I am teaching here. I can speak in Parliament, on the street, write in newspapers. But I cannot address the teachers of my university. What is the fear?' Jha asked.
