Amid the ongoing Mahua Moitra's cash-for-query row, Supreme Court advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai has accused her of stealing his dog.
Dehadrai, whom Moitra refers to as 'jilted ex' wrote a letter to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora on Thursday, October 19 in which he said that Moitra is running a vengeful vendetta. He further alleged in his letter that Motra is resorting to a campaign of harassment and that included the act of kidnapping his dog, Henry.
He added that Moitra's motive behind this alleged act was to intimidate and blackmail him in connection to the CBI complaint lodged against her. Moitra has been accused of taking money to ask questions against Adani in the Parliament.
The advocate further said that he anticipates threat and tremendous fear to his life, amid this legal battle with the TMC MP.
In his letter, he also provided the documents in the written complaint to prove his legal ownership of Henry, a Rottweiler breed dog which he claims he purchased in January 2021 from a private shop in Delhi’s Janakpuri area.
It was mentioned in the letter, "This is with reference to the theft and illegal retention of my three-year-old pet dog named Henry (Rottweiler breed) by Ms. Mahua Moitra, M.P., Lok Sabha, Resident of 9-B, Telegraph Lane, New Delhi – 110001,” under the subject line — “Complaint against Ms. Mahua Moitra, M.P., for Theft and Illegal Retention of my pet dog named Henry."
Jai Anant Dehadrai also said that Moitra is hiding away his pet as a retaliation to his CBI complaint against her. He alleged that Moitra kidnapped Henry from him on October 10, 2023, with the intent to harass and blackmail him in response to the CBI complaint that was filed on October 14, 2023. '
