The Centre on Monday said that the seasonal influenza situation is likely to improve with cases expected to decline by March-end.
Union Health Ministry on Friday said it was also keeping a close eye on the deaths and morbidity due to H3N2 influenza, which is a sub-category of seasonal influenza. It added that young children and old age persons were among the most vulnerable groups.
As per official records, among the first two deaths due to H3N2, one was an 82-year-old man from Karnataka, while another confirmed death has is from Haryana.
So far, about 90 cases of H3N2 virus and 08 H1N1 virus have been reported in the country, NDTV reported.
