Smoke detected on Air India Express plane at Muscat Airport, passengers evacuated

Over 140 passengers along with crew members were evacuated from an Air India Express plane at Muscat airport on Wednesday after smoke was detected in one of the engines. 

The incident happened while the Kochi-bound Boeing 737-800 aircraft was taxiing, according to reports. 

Alternative arrangements are being made to bring the passengers from Muscat to Kochi. 

Directorate General of Civil Aviation has said it will probe the incident.
