It sounded like an open and shut when the initial reports about the death of BJP leader and social media star Sonali Phogat surfaced on Tuesday. It was informed that the 42-year-old passed away due to a heart attack.
However, three days on, Phogat’s death has turned into a mystery after her brother Rinku Dhaka made sensational allegations against Sonali’s aides Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Wasi.
A case has been registered against both the associates who could have possible links to Sonali’s death.
What does the family allege?
Sonali’s family including her brother had hinted at foul play a day after she died. In his formal complaint to Anjuna Police, Rinku Dhaka, named two of Phogat’s associates behind her alleged murder.
Dhaka has said that there was no scheduled shooting in Goa. His sister was brought to Goa on pretext of the shoot, however, it was a conspiracy for her alleged murder. Dhaka also levelled allegations against Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Wasi of blackmailing Sonali over an objectionable video.
The video was recorded after Phogat was served laced food item and raped by Sangwan and Wasi, claims Rinku Dhaka in the complaint.
Dhaka goes on to say in the complaint that both Sonali’s associates were also suspected of being involved in a theft that took place at Phogat’s residence in Haryana last year.
What does the autopsy say?
While a case of unnatural death was registered in Sonali Phogat’s untimely death, the findings of autopsy fell in line with her family’s allegations. The post-mortem report mentioned ‘multiple blunt force injuries’ on the former tik tok star’s body.
