A sprawling office space in Gujarat's Surat has surpassed United States' Pentagon to become the world's largest office building, according to a CNN report. The Pentagon held the title for 80 years.

The CNN report added that the newly-constructed Surat Diamond Bourse will house over 65,000 diamond professionals including cutters, traders and polishers. The building has 15 floors and is spread over 35 acres of land. It has nine interconnected rectangular structures.

According to reports, the diamond trading hub will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November.
