AAP MP Raghav Chadha was suspended from the Rajya Sabha on Friday for "gross violation of rules, misconduct, defiant attitude and contemptuous conduct", pending a report by the privileges committee.
Raghav Chadha was suspended from the Upper House for allegedly adding names of members to a select committee, without their consent, to assess the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023.
The motion of suspension was moved by Piyush Goyal who said Raghav Chadha's action was unethical. Chadha's conduct was unexpected and unbecoming of a member of Parliament, Goyal said accusing Chadha of breach of privilege.
After being suspended from Rajya Sabha, AAP MP Raghav Chadha, in a video message has raised a series of questions pointing at the BJP led central government for debarring him from the Upper House.
"Am I guilty because I questioned the leaders of the biggest party in the world inside the Parliament or am I guilty because I put forth my point on Delhi Services bill and demanded justice from them?”
