Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Thursday over the recent incidents of target killings in Kashmir, according to reports.

The meeting comes hours after a bank employee from Rajasthan was shot dead in Kashmir's Kulgam district. A militant group called Kashmir Freedom Fighters have taken responsibility for the killing. A statement released by the group claimed that bank manager Vijay Kumar held a domicile certificate despite being a non-local. They also threatened that anyone trying to change the demographic of Kashmir will meet the same fate.

It is the second targeted killing in Kulgam in three days. On May 31, a teacher was killed outside a school in the same district.

8 people have been killed in Kashmir in targeted attacks since May 1, sparking fresh security concerns.
