Telangana MP allocates Rs 2 crore for conservation of 800 years old banyan tree

TRS Rajya Sabha MP from Hyderabad, Joginapally Santosh Kumar announced 2 crore rupees from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development funds (MPLAD), for the conservation of a 800-year-old banyan tree in Telangana’s Mahbubnagar district.

The parliamentarian, who is also a chairman of the Green India Foundation, expressed his gratitude to the district administration for saving the giant banyan tree.

It is pertinent to mention here that to resurrect this historical tree a saline drip treatment was provided as well as all the roots of the tree were treated to give it a new life

Talking to the media, Santosh Kumar said that it is the responsibility of common people to take care of the  environment.
