On the day that the Indian government revealed details about the border clash with China in Arunachal Pradesh, the American administration commented on the tension.

The Joe Biden government said that it was glad that Indian and Chinese soldiers disengaged quickly in Tawang. Washington said that it is closely monitoring the situation, and encouraged Beijing and Delhi to use "existing bilateral channels to discuss disputed boundaries".

The clash occurred on 9 December 2022 due to Chinese aggression, and some soldiers were injured on both sides.
