Superstition peaked in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr after the dead body of a 21-year-old man was kept in a river for two consecutive days in the hope that the snake poison, by which the man died, will get removed.
Mohit Kumar returned home after casting his vote for 2024 Lok Sabha election on April 26 and visited a park in the evening where a snake bit him. His family rushed him to a doctor where he died during treatment, but instead of accepting the harsh truth, the family consulted a ‘tantrik’ who suggested to keep the dead body dipped in the Ganga River for two days and claimed that the poison will be removed, and he will be revived.
A video surfaced online showing a pool of onlookers at the bank of the river as the dead body was seen tied with ropes and dipped in water.
After realising that the tactic did not work, Mohit’s family finally cremated his dead body.
