CM Yogi Adityanath on Thursday held a roadshow in Mainpuri Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttar Pradesh in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections third phase.
The Uttar Pradesh chief minister held the roadshow in support of BJP candidate Jaiveer Singh in Mainpuri, SP bastion, where he was showered with flowers from people standing atop bulldozers amid echoes of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'.
Polling in the Mainpuri constituency is set to take place on May 7 during third phase of Lok Sabha elections.
During the roadshow, the CM tore into Samajwadi party and Congress accusing both the parties of trying to drag India back to “slavery” by “diverting” reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs to the minorities.
He attacked opposition INDIA bloc and Samajwadi Party and accused them of suppressing backward classes’ rights and appeasing Muslims.
He said, “The alliance of Congress and SP is trying to suppress the reservation rights of backward classes. They are trying to divide the minorities. They have supported cow slaughter to appease the Muslims.”
