Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday flagged off the 'Drugs Free Uttarakhand' bike rally, organized by the Adarsh Industrial Autonomy Cooperative Society Doiwala, Dehradun.
Adarsh Sanstha President Asha Kothari highlighted the organization's continuous efforts in social and creative fields, noting that under the Chief Minister's leadership, the campaign for a drug-free Uttarakhand is being conducted across the state. As part of the event, CM Dhami also released the song album Devbhoomi Ma Auli Bahar at his residence.
The album features vocals by Vijendra Singh Bartwal and Uttam Singh Bhandari, with lyrics by Satyapal Singh Bhandari and music composed by Shailendra Shailu and Dilip Anjwal. The album's acting performances are by Uttam Singh Bhandari and Harish Kothari, while Uttam Singh Bhandari also serves as the producer.
Earlier in the day, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Command, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, met with CM Dhami at the Secretariat to discuss various contemporary issues in detail.
Meanwhile, under the Chief Minister’s leadership, the administration has intensified its crackdown on illegal encroachments, leading to the sealing of over 43 unauthorized madrasas in Dehradun, as stated in a press release from the Uttarakhand CMO.
CM Dhami has previously emphasized that any attempts to alter the state's culture, traditions, or geographical integrity will not be tolerated. He has granted the administration full authority to take stringent action against those engaging in illegal activities under the guise of religion.
This decisive approach has empowered the administration, directly countering efforts to create demographic imbalances in Uttarakhand. In response, the Dehradun administration has undertaken a large-scale operation, sealing 31 illegal madrasas in Vikasnagar, 9 in Sadar, and 3 in Doiwala.
Intelligence reports indicate an abnormal increase in the Muslim population in the Pachhadun region, raising concerns about potential demographic shifts. Recognizing the risks, the Dhami government has taken firm steps, demolishing illegal encroachments and sending a clear message that unlawful activities will not be permitted in Uttarakhand.
