his milestone was achieved by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) as part of the 125 km broad-gauge project. The tunnel spans 105 km, featuring 16 tunnels from Rishikesh to Karnprayag.

CM Dhami described the project as a historic development for Uttarakhand. He also praised the infrastructure advancements made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, noting, "This tunnel from Devprayag-Sod to Srinagar Janasu is a major achievement from a technical point of view, and it shows that despite difficult geographical conditions, we can successfully carry out development works."
