In Haryana's Ambala which is one of the worst-hit districts as the north Indian state battles incessant rains, reports said 730 girl students who were trapped in their school were rescued.

Reports said the local administration called the police, the Indian army and the National Disaster Relief Forces as hundreds of girl students were trapped in Chaman Vatika Kanya Gurukul which is located on the fringe of Ambala.

A video showed hundreds of girl students walking in knee-deep gushing waters while forming a human chain.

The students were then moved to school buses which carried them to their homes.
