Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad have arrested an employee in the finance ministry for allegedly sharing over 61 pieces of confidential documents with a mobile number suspected to be from Pakistan.

27-year-old Naveen Pal was a contractual Multi-Tasking Staff with the Ministry of Finance.

Police told The Indian Express that some of the documents that Pal shared were related to G-20 Summit and he took Rs 8,000 to 10,000 per document.

When the police checked Pal's phone, they found he was sharing the documents with a number saved as ‘Anjali Kolkata’. Police found that the number was active in Pakistan, but Pal wasn’t aware of this.

The accused had come in contact with the person through a video call on WhatsApp and received payment through online mode.
