Two women police constables from Bihar's Gajipur district are being lauded for thwarting a robbery attempt. A senior police official told NDTV that the women will be rewarded for their courage.
The incident took place in broad daylight at Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank in Senduari Chowk where Juhi Kumari and Shanti Kumari were deployed.
The CCTV footage shows the two accused entering the bank and interacting with the women.
When asked to show their documents, one of the two accused drew his pistol and charged at the police personnel which followed a scuffle.
As per an NDTV report, the robbers eventually fled the scene after being intimidated by the female constables and did not rob the bank.
Juhi who sustained injuries in the incident was about to shoot the robbers before they ran away to save their life, the report added. Search is on for the two accused, and a probe has been launched for the attempted robbery.
