The MiG-21 Bison fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force's No. 4 squadron flew for the last time over the Uttarlai town in Barmer, Rajasthan on Tuesday.
The MiG-21 Bison flew alongside the Su-30 MKI to mark the historic day as the Indian Air Force looks to phase out the fighter aircraft fleet which was once its backbone.
The MiG-21 Bison will be replaced by the indigenous LCA Mark-1A fighter jets.
The MiG-21s were given a formal send-off by the Indian Air Force on October 8. The jets on the occasion of Air Force Day flew for the last time in any air display.
The Indian Air Force currently has 3 MiG-21 squadrons and plans to phase them out by 2025.
