Karnataka BJP MP S Muniswamy is being slammed on social media for allegedly berating a woman for not wearing a bindi.
Muniswamy reportedly made the remarks at an event marking International Women's Day. He was captured pulling a woman vendor for not wearing a bindi on her forehead despite her husband being alive.
The viral video shows the MP schooling the woman in her native language. Social media user Nayini Anurag Reddy who shared the video translated the conversation as, "Wear a Bindi first. Your husband is alive, isn't he. You have no common sense."
The BJP MP is now drawing ire for making 'regressive' remarks at a women's day event.
